Photoshop Startup Guide

  1. Determine what you need photoshop for
    1. Below are standard template types for photoshop that we have
      1. Floor Plans
        • 11×17
        • 18×24
        • 24×36
      2. Site Plans
        • 11×17
        • 18×24
        • 24×36
      3. Watermark
        • 11×17
        • 24×36
        • 29×48 – LARGE (For large marketing prints: ie renderings for construction fence)
      4. Paint Editing
  2. After selecting template type
    1. Open template file
    2. Do a “Save as” and change the file name to Current Date & Project Name
    3. Save to Project Folder > B) Drawings > B54 Photoshop
  3. Follow the instructions within the file itself
  4. Saving Files
    1. If adding file to InDesign, simply save the file as a psd and place/drop into InDesign presentation
    2. If sending to clients (ie Renderings) export as a png (png files are typically smaller in file size)
