- Below is a troubleshooting form for other work arounds/issue/or outdated fixes
- SketchUp crashes whenever I close the application:
- Open SketchUp and navigate to Window/extension manager
- Disable all extensions/plugins (uninstall any you aren’t using anymore)
- Close SketchUp
- Re-open sketchUp and navigate back to window/extension manager
- Enable all extensions/plugins.
- Open SketchUp and navigate to Window/extension manager
- SketchUp pops up with (read only file)
- Ensure no one else is using the file (this should always be done prior to the steps below)
- Hit the red OK button to open file as read only
- After file opens save file with current date (or some way to delineate that it is a newer file)
- Continue working with regular saves
- Make sure you save your file and then “Close” by going to File and clicking Close or by using the short cut “Command+W”
- SketchUp crash and how to reopen the file
- If SketchUp crashes allow a bit of time before attempting to reopen the program
- Re-open SketchUp
- Your file should appear as the first option with an orange box reading “Recovered Filed”, double check the entire file name before opening
- Once Recovered File opens do a “Save As” with an updated file name including the current date and some way to denote it is the most updated version of your file (Only add some note if the last file has the same Date as the one you are trying to save)
- Continue working with regular saves
- SketchUp crash due to file size
- Re-open SketchUp file
- Go to Window>Tags
- From the Tags menu, create tags for different aspects of the model
- People
- Plants
- Objects
- Graphics
- Continue working with regular saves
- SketchUp keeps signing me out
- If SketchUp keeps making you sign in when you start the program, login as normal and make sure to select the “Remember Me/Device” button
- To make it easier for the user, save login information to Google Passwords
- SketchUp requires a sign in every 28 days due to their subscription model
- Aside from these Intersect has no say over when you get signed out
