Intersect developed a concept to help heal and grow Kalamazoo.  We know the power of education.  We also know teams working together with clarity of mission win!  This is our effort to create a Place to help Kzoo win:

The Urban Innovation Lab is a Place for diverse curious people, companies and organizations to come together to share knowledge with one another.  This is the Place for imagination, to experiment with new ideas and find shared missions.  And a Place to think and learn across disciplines; across art, science and politics; across gender, age ethnicity and background; across position and perceived relevance.  It is also a place to elevate and propel.  The Urban Innovation lab ultimately provides an experience focused on finding the Common-Unity which makes a Community strong and wise.  Kalamazoo and the region can’t automatically improve; it will only match our dreams if we make it so.  Knowledge has the power to break barriers so we may rise to our greatest heights. 

Kalamazoo 2025

Intersect was engaged by the Community Development Department to help them bring clarity and maximum benefit from the community engagement process that stemmed from updating the City’s Master Plan.  The City’s goal is to create an action plan for the future based on what the people of Kzoo desire most.  Intersect analyzed the proposed process and provided strategic feedback.  In addition, the following were developed; visual graphics, website content coordination, graphic schedule, workgroup coordination and engagement, feedback analysis and theme development.

PechaKucha Nights are informal and fun gatherings where creative people get together and share their ideas, works, thoughts, holiday snaps. PechaKucha 20×20 is a presentation format where you show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically and you talk along to the images. Originating in Japan, PechaKucha Nights now happen in over 1000 cities around the world and they are the perfect platform to show and share your passions, your work and what gives you the motivation to get out of bed everyday! Every Kalamazoo PechaKucha Night is hosted by passionate local companies : Intersect Studio, Rhino, and Maestro, who run the events for the inspiration, love, and fun of it!
